Presentations at this convening highlighted current electrification initiatives and explored barriers to installing charging infrastructure in the public right-of-way. Speakers from the City of Minneapolis, Metropolitan Council, City of Saint Paul, and Xcel Energy shared their perspectives, followed by a group Q&A.

Topics discussed included:

  • What needs to be in the public right-of-way vs. in private facilities

  • Access considerations for individuals/communities that don't have charging available at home or at work

  • Branding, advertising, and partnerships for charging stations

  • Winter weather maintenance
