About the Event
The summer convening focused on opportunities for shared mobility across the state of Minnesota. Agenda highlights included:
Karen Onan, director of the Regional Transportation Coordinating Council (RTCC) at the East Central Regional Development Commission, presented a summary of conversations with RTCCs from across the state. She discussed themes, program highlights, and future plans for shared mobility in each region.
Mike Lund, government relations specialist at Metro Cities, and Meredith Klekotka, shared mobility program manager at Metro Transit, shared two new documents created by the Shared Mobility Collaborative to help identify and explain shared mobility opportunities in the 2023 Minnesota Transportation Omnibus Bill.
Erik Rudeen, director of government affairs at MnDOT, took a deeper dive with state-level
funding opportunities.MnDOT’s Greater Minnesota shared mobility coordinator, Elliott McFadden, highlighted the new Moving Greater Minnesota Forward program being launched at MnDOT later this summer. This will be the first innovative shared mobility incubator in the country focused on the unique needs of rural, tribal, and small urban communities. The program will help communities develop, pilot, and scale shared mobility services that meet mobilities needs.
